COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides a comprehensive overview of the updated Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions: from gingivitis and gingival enlargements to periodontitis and mucogingival deformities, and from peri-implant mucositis to peri-implantitis. This presentation bridges the gap between theoretical classification and day-to-day clinical decision-making, empowering dentists and hygienists to adopt a personalized, evidence-based approach to patient care.

Babak Najafi, DDS, MDS, FRCDC Periodontist
Dr. Najafi is a board-certified periodontist at his private practice, Origins Specialty Dentistry in San Antonio. He is a former Clinical Assistant Professor at UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry and an adjunct faculty in the Department of Periodontics, Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He has completed his specialty residency in Periodontology and earned Master of Dental Science from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. As a Fellow-Elect in the Royal College of Dentists, Dr. Najafi has published several articles on periodontal regenerative procedures, dental implants, and minimally invasive dentistry and served as an Ad-Hoc reviewer for Journal of Periodontology and Journal of Oral Implantology.
