DESCRIPTION
Achieving a harmonious and balanced smile often requires a multidisciplinary approach to address discrepancies in white and pink esthetics. This course explores surgical and non-surgical interventions in the management of common clinical challenges, including gingival recession, mucogingival defects, and non-carious cervical lesions. A critical focus will be placed on the interface between the gingiva and restorative margins−whether in veneers, crowns, or cervical restorations−to achieve optimal results with long-term stability. A comprehensive decision tree will be presented from restorative and periodontal perspectives. Contemporary periodontal and peri-implant plastic procedures will be discussed to augment attached gingiva, halt the progression of gingival recession and correct soft tissue and/or dental deformities. The treatment sequence in combined approaches with both surgical and restorative interventions will be elaborated to ensure soft tissue health around natural teeth and implants. Through clinical case discussions, participants will learn about minimally invasive approaches and their patient-centered outcomes in short and long term.
